I love collecting vintage sewing notions - especially buttons - but I often come across examples which are too special to throw back in the button jar. Along with bits of special trims and linens, these buttons really needed a spot to be displayed and viewed - like a scrapbook.
So, today I used some left over canvas to create a TEXTILE scrapbook especially for vintage sewing notions. With fabric pages, this should do the trick for keeping my collection stitched, or pinned, in it's own spot. I even added a pocket for non-stitchables, like photographs and cards.
That's a nice idea. They're very pretty in a scrapbook.
ReplyDeleteI love vintage notions as well! Just found your blog through Sew Retro, what a pretty way to show off your collection.
ReplyDeletewhat a fantastic idea! I have a ton of little crochet lace pieces, embroidered cutters, etc, that I've picked up over the years and this would be a great way for me to store and display them all!
